That’s funny and sad at the same time.

Clumsy Carl must have thought he had it nailed but his nail gun nailed him and now he’s nailed down.

Last words: “Is this thing loaded?”

My best buddy did that forty years ago. Working alone on a roof, with plywood sheathing and a framing nail gun, a gust of wind lifted the 4 × 8 sheet he was getting ready to nail down. He reached for the sheet and the nail gun at the same time, but pressed the gun’s trigger against his knee as the sheet moved. The gun fired, putting a standard sized nail into the side of his knee. He had to fight back the shock while getting himself down off the roof with his leg in the bent position, so basically hugging the ladder all the way down. His co-worker came back just in time and took him to the hospital, where one of the attending docs showed him a large pair of surgical pliers. Local anesthesia wasn’t going to be enough, as he threatened the doc with bodily harm if he wasn’t totally out.

May I say Lil nailed this eulogy!

Mama told him there’d be days like this…

If he hadn’t tripped over it, he wouldn’t have fallen face first into that band saw.

Ironically, Carl was a Casket Maker…
