Thank you for this. My dad introduced us kids to the ‘Sunday funnies’….He would laugh whole-heartedly at them or groan over puns…Missing that laugh of his today. He would have clipped this one out of the paper and saved it, I just know it.
Wow, I’d totally forgotten bringing in the Sunday Paper, and all of us reading and passing around the various sections, while bacon and eggs sizzled from the kitchen! And yes, the funnies were “score”! But being the youngest, it was usually stained with bacon grease by the time I got it! Nice memories!
Cool day for dad. For husband and I, last year I felt so bad for my husband, in May last year I got hurt badly, badly hurt called for a wheelchair could not have surgery hurt, I tried to ask him to have family to take him to church to get his free gift and he would not do it he did not want to leave me along, this year he could. Also I have done a lot of exercises after 8 months, just be happy no more cane, I am happy husband had a wonderful Father’s Day.
The printed Sunday Comics page is nothing like it used to be. It is now 4 pages where we are (front and back). And we have something like 30 daily comics still!

I remember working the Sunday crosswords with my Dad. It was sometimes the only way to get us to leave on time.

Half of me finds this heartwarming. The other half believes that the strip hawking the Sunday comics in the strip is a low move.

I gave my dad a belt, he smacked my brother with it.

This would be great, if we still had news papers. Or one that has a good share of Go Comics in it.

This is a very heartwarming strip. It reminds me of my father reading the weekend comics with me.

Perhaps just printing ‘special’ holiday newspapers? (Lean on the good newss?) With enormous color comic sections.

That’s one heck of a comics section if they’re all reading it simultaneously!! LOL!

I agree, reading the funnies is a great activity. Reading them online isn’t the same, but that’s how it is today.
