Looks like Steenz is on vacation (I’m deeply hoping. After Georgia Dunn’s recent injury based hitatus i’m praying it’s just time off and not an injury). I’ll miss the strip but i’m greatful that cartoonists can take these now. It wasn’t always this way but it shoudl’ve been.
My sister got her ears pierced at a sleepover at her BFF’s house without first asking our mother’s permission. The girls held a cut potato half behind her earlobe and pushed a sewing needle through to it. The first ear the piercer was nervous, so it had one entry hole and two exit holes. Our mother was not amused, but allowed her to keep the holes open.
I remember the 60s when girls and guys started piercing their ears again. It involved a big sewing needle, a cork and a really trusted friend with a steady hand. Now it’s the norm and things are a lot better. FYI, I was chicken.
