So! I log in and discover I’m not logged in. (When you log in successfully, you get the “Flag” message after every comment, allowing you to flag them as desired.) I figure I made some kind of mistake, and just didn’t notice the error message.
So I go back to the login screen and do it again, carefully. And guess what? This time I get a screen in which I can sign up to pay for GoComics. I can’t get to the screen I want. And there are no “Flag” messages after the comments.
In other words, our gracious Site Master won’t let me sign in today unless I pay (shudder) M.O.N.E.Y. How sneaky! Makes me mad! Did they think I wouldn’t notice?
So now I go to Cathy from whatever previous comic I was reading, and here are the “Flag” messages. My blood pressure, heart rate, and general stress level all go back down to normal levels.

I don’t know, but their “bottom line” is increasing.
It’s been so long since we’ve seen the boss, I’d forgotten what he looks like.
