Cathy: I want to understand the man's world. Charlene: Me, too. Cathy: Except football. I don't want to understand football. Charlene: Or basketball. I don't want to understand that. Cathy: Or hockey, boxing or wrestling. Charlene: Or golf. Cathy: Also, I don't want to understand men's electronic gizmos... Their action films... Their stupid tv shows... Their gross jokes... Their boring books... Or their icky food. Charlene: I don't want to understand what they watch, play, read, eat, do or think is funny. Cathy: I want to understand the man's world as it applies to and glorifies me. Charlene: ...And they don't even TRY with us!

I understand the sports and boring action movie part (second-hand adrenaline!), the gizmo thing (lookeeee what I got!), and the gross jokes (grow up? Me?). But I never actually wanted to.

No the Venus bar should be dark chocolate filled with a coffee liqueur……

I understand most of the guy stuff too, and was into most of it at some point, but we’re just wired differently, so why do we all need to be into the same stuff? Why can’t we just get along and like each other regardless of differences?
As long as my Venus Bar has dark chocolate, I’m happy. (Real sugar please, none of that fake stuff)

Honestly, there are very few “women” things I understand. Enjoying shopping? Dieting? Makeup? Fashion? Spas (shudder)? Scrapbooking and house-decorating? Going to the bathroom in groups? Nope. I like sports, computer games, pool, and history. I’d rather eat lentils all week and have a bacon cheeseburger and dark beer and real ice cream than diet stuff.
Stereotypical men and women have different interests. The wonderful thing about the world these days is that we are more free to do what interests each of us, and don’t have to try to fit into a typical gender mold. I’ve tried that, it’s boredom and misery for everyone involved.

Well, I know more about sports than 80% of the men I know, so I guess that makes me a little odd. And while I’m careful about what I eat, I’ve never gone on a set “diet” - closest I ever came is when I put on a lot of weight in college and figured out it was all the extra desserts and snacks I was eating. To assume that all men, and all women, have the same interests is pretty stupid.
masnadies, if you’re drinking dark beer, to some extent you ARE dieting. Dark beer is usually less caloric, and more filling, than lagers and ales.

Hey ladies, don´t try to fully understand us, just understand us enough. We can do the same and thaths actually better.
