Okay, I can’t relate to this one at all. As long as there’s cheap manufacturing, there will be more coffee makers and more junk generated. I long for the days when things were made right and lasted a while and people saved up to buy them.
I have no problem with products that wear out - provided the price is low and includes recycling that actually recycles (lifecycle design). That is the way Nature does it - new leaves in spring, wear out by fall, drop off for recycling by worms. I actually don’t like products that last forever - unless all the components are made from benign materials.
