Cathy: To love. To charm. To innocence. To trust and faith. To honesty, loyalty, cuteness, kindness and courage. To the one who proved it was all possible while simultaneously making it impossible for anyone else to ever quite measure up. Here's to you Charlie Brown.

If she hadn’t mentioned Charlie Brown at the end, I’d have thought she was talking about her mother!

Ack!!!!! What just went past the lips will next hit the hips … and thighs … and butt …

“Aack,” indeed! I was morbidly fascinated by the fact that Cathy went from eating just eating one chocolate at a time to shoveling them in by the fistful, and finally to just opening wide and dumping the entire contents of the box into her mouth. Gross!

Was this her tribute to Charles Schultz when he died? – I think it was on Valentine’s Day.

Charles Schulz died February 12, 2000, 2 days before Valentine’s Day. I don’t know for sure but I guess it’s possible that Cathy Guisewite was able to do this strip in that short a period of time to honor him.

I seem to remember that his last strip ran the day after he died and it was a Sunday (I think, but I’m not sure) that the daily strips had been finished for a couple of weeks before and we all knew that it would be his last strip – we just didn’t know he was that close to death. So maybe CG had some time to plan.
