There was a gag on “The Benny Hill Show” like this; a man sees old, fat women go into the elevator and young, thin women come out. He puts his wife into the elevator, and a man comes out!
At least Jeff is smart enough to know that the elevator isn’t a magical transformation machine. This Golden Oldie comes out of the city vs. country era:
A farmer had business in the city and had to stay overnight. As he was checking in at his hotel, he looked around the lobby and noticed the elevator. He’d never seen one and had no idea what it was for. As he watched, the door opened and an elderly woman walked in, and the door closed. A couple of minutes later, the door opened again, and a beautiful young woman walked out.
“Dang!” said the farmer. “If I’d known about that gizmo, I would have brought my wife!”
