Fog is in the air not to mention smoke as well. The first look showed 60 on the old thermometer, the forecast says partly cloudy, stay showers and maybe a wandering T-storm, high 81. Hay (^.^)
I’ll head for Newport after I make my list and visit the Price Chopper and Wally World and get some food. I like to eat you know.
In other news, well, there ain’t any for today, tomorrow we head for Clairmont, NH to the younger nephew’s for a graduation party for a great nephew, Jon’s son from a previous marriage. Anyway, I’ll likely be late to chime in tomorrow.
I’ve been sitting here at my computer for about 4 hours now. I stumbled across a few articles that I just had to read, plus my morning bible reading and toon and puzzle tour. I really do need to get up and get ready to face the day. (Still in PJ’s at the moment.)
I’ve been encouraged by a couple of the SCOTUS rulings the last couple of days. Yesterday I saw where businesses must accommodate folks who want to rearrange their work schedule for religious reasons. (This means that our worship leader now has better ammunition when he asks for Sunday mornings off.) The one I read today backs up the earlier ruling that Christian business owners do not have to provide service to same-sex couples. The earlier one was the baker who wouldn’t do a wedding cake. This one was a web designer who wouldn’t do a wedding “site”. The earlier decision was limited to just that baker, but this one strikes down a Colorado law requiring them to work for everyone. The Colorado law called it discrimination. The SCOTUS says that “disagreement” is NOT “discrimination” and it is a first amendment issue. (Both were 6-3 along ideological lines.) Apparently most states have such a law and this ruling invalidates them all.
Back to the bank for the last time this afternoon. Plus I have a package to pick up from the local Amazon lockers. This evening’s date night is to the Crown and Anchor, a traditional British pub with great food. Their fish & chips are the best around.
Today would have been my dad’s 100th birthday. Happy Birthday Daddy. Mom, kiss him for me.
We got up to 99 yesterday, but today we’re already officially at 100. The forecast is for 103.
