Poncho seems to be on a wag jag these days. 5’ll get you 10 his tail falls off before the weekend.

Bear in mind he may not be talking about the East River (which is actually a tidal estuary); since he’s speaking in all caps, it’s impossible to say. Many cities are situated between two rivers, and for some of them one river will be to the east, hence “the east river.”

This strip is SOOOO original. Love this little melodrama based abound a dog’s reflexive behavior.

Who ARE the people in the last panel and why would Poncho be having any dealings with them? People from the regular cast of characters should have been used, e.g., the mailman.

But I thought “LOL” meant “Lots of Love…!”
