He’s maybe planning to win against a squirrel? My dog recently was being teased by a squirrel running around a tree trunk about 3 feet away from my dog. I finally shooed of the squirrel as my dog had zero interest in the squirrel and looked slightly annoyed. I am so lucky. Now if I could just get her to stop trying to make friends with the skunk around midnight every night I could relax. If she’s outside, I am outside and she is on a leash, so I can pull her in quickly late at night when I have her on a long leash. Not extendable, just long.
Hmmm! I had just finished reading an “Ask Amy” column featuring a letter about a nephew who was gender-transition before looking at this cartoon. Made me wonder if the dog is thinking about becoming a squirrel.
Studying squirrels is fine but you cannot beat them. My “jock” cat Betsy spend a month studying and chasing squirrels in the huge 200-year-old oak tree that overhung our deck. It took her that long that to figure out that squirrels had the unsurmountable tactical advantage of being able to run along the bottoms of the foot-thick limbs. :)

Clever dog—the room’s so dim because he’s lowered the blinds/closed the curtains so he won’t be distracted by a glimpse of a squirrel outside.

I like the title over on the right “So You Caught One.” I’m guessing that the subtitle is “Now What Do You Do With It?”
