Cathy (from phone): I went to a wedding. Mom: I'M ON MY WAY!! Cathy: Trista and Gene got married last night! It was so beautiful, mom! Mom: Let me see Cathy! Let me look into your eyeballs! Cathy: Trista wore a stunning satin gown and a diamond tiara! Mom: Did any urgent little noises start sounding in your brain?? Cathy: Gene looked so handsome! They were breathtaking together! Mom: Did any alarms go off in there? Any call to action?? Cathy: The flowers were amazing! The party was fabulous! It was all just perfect! Mom: Any vibrations? Any insistent pinging sounds?? Any urge to rush to a phone and respond to the grand call of love and life yourself?? Cathy: Huh? Mom: I used to dream of wedding bells. Now I'm just hoping for a wedding beeper.

I am 59 and don’t get a regular newspaper to read the comics….I now have to look at reruns of Cathy online and they are still as funny as when I originally saw them!

As usual, Mom and Cathy are on two different wavelengths. I’ll say it again—Mom sure does explain a lot about why Cathy is like she is.

At this point in time, Cathy’s not even dating anyone! Who in the world is she going to urgently rush to the phone and call in order to “respond to the grand call of love and life”?!?!? Once again, proof positive that crazy doesn’t fall too far from the crazy tree!!!!!
