Cathy: Where's the purse I got you for Christmas? Mom: Oh, I couldn't use that! It's too nice! Cathy: You deserve to have nice things, mom. Mom: I know I do. That's why I keep it wrapped in tissue paper in my drawer. It will always stay nice. See? It's right next to the key ring you gave me three years ago, and the pretty compact and makeup brushes....They're all still in their beautiful gift boxes! Mom, if anything ever got ruined, I'd get you another one! Mom: I don't want other ones. I love the ones I already have! Cathy: This is no way to live, Mom! You have to use your things! Get out in the world and use your stuff! Mom: Uh, oh. It started pouring. I hope you brought some boots. Cathy: Are you crazy? I don't want my nice boots to get wet!! ....Oh. Mom: Is there anything so sweet as a mother watching her little flower unfold?

I was wearing my firefighter boots after the first panel. Craziness runs swiftly and deeply in that household.
I slept in. I figured at least frightenup would beat me here this morning. I found 3 avatars to use for November. Not sure I can change my name without messing up my comics. I’ll check later.

Mom’s crafty little grin in the second-to-last panel says it all. Gotcha!-I’m here! Should have been here earlier, but I’m not feeling well so I slept in a little. The kids think it’s funny that I’ve lost my voice, but it’s difficult to tell them things. At least you guys can hear me. :-)Good morning, Aaron, GretchensMom, Susan and all other frenemies. Doing better than expected, Susan. Thanks for thinking about me. All of you folks. You’re so cool.
I’m actually going back to work tonight. I can do desk duty and such and I can ride along in the ambulance on calls if need be. The burns still need healing, but they’re wrapped and I’ll be careful. Promise.

@aaron: Keep that promise! And think healing thoughts to the burns – it does help. They need loving attention.

LOL at mom…that’s too funny…what’s the point of having nice things if you’re never going to use them??……Aaron, glad to hear you’re healing well…..Arnica lotion will help minimize scarring…just to let you know :)
