Back when I was playing soccer, we were practicing taking shots on goal at practice one day, when my friend said “Check out my patented shot!” before shooting the ball. He ended up shooting the ball over top of the net. Thereafter, every time anyone shot the ball over the net, it was a “patented shot”.
