We all have those what if’s in our thoughts. It would make it easier to steal off the table top. You would still play soccer with the guys and the twins but maybe not get as winded as fast, but you would be the same Fred. Short legged basset or long legged basset cross with whatever, we would love you the same.
I read a children’s picture book about Fred and Jock in the 1970s which was called “Fred Basset and the Spaghetti”. Jock wished he had a Fred long body like Fred and Fred claimed that he got his long body from eating spaghetti. Jock tried eating spaghetti like Fred but didn’t like it and realized his legs weren’t growing. He asked Fred whether he was sure that it was spaghetti which made his body grow. Fred replied that he’d been eating it all his life and it had given him his long body. A Great Dane replied that spaghetti had given him his long legs. Fred and Jock imagined themselves with long legs. It put them both off spaghetti.
Seems his friends see Fred as the big dog anyhow. My three and four pounders always believed that they were as big as my 150 pounder. They always enjoyed sleeping in and on his Arctic fur.

Fred, if you were taller, you’d be a beagle, not a basset!

I have always wanted to be taller, at least three inches taller, so I can reach top shelves.
