I agree, Irving… wow. I think that one word most days that I read this comic. But thank you to Cathy for giving me a daily laugh/groan, and thank you to the Cathy family for coming together last year. I wish everyone a wonderful, happy, healthy new year, and I’m looking forward to more fun together!

Cathy wouldn’t survive five minutes in a Canadian winter! And taking decorations down the day after Christmas? Susan, you live around a bunch of Grinches! Ours come down tomorrow.

Our decorations stay up until Jan 5, when my husband’s family celebrates.

Our tree stays up another week too. No scheduled tree pickup anymore but the local snowmobile club picks them up and uses them to mark the trails across the area lakes.

Usually take the tree down on New Year’s day while watching the Rose Parade. With church today, didn’t do that. Got the outside stuff down. Will do the tree tomorrow since I have the day off. Otherwise, hard to tell when it could get done.

I was okay up until the scarf for my freezing neck. Then my eyes rolled into my head. Blink. Blink blink. Seeing her kick off those shoes for those boots was mostly sane, though the shoes themselves are an accident waiting to happen. Panel 7 just did me in altogether. So Cathy was beautiful for exactly 4 of 8 panels. 50%. Well, kinda amazed she is only 50% nut job. And Irving said a mouthful, which she promptly ignored of course. She just makes me shake my head. She reminds me of an onion—many layers of weirdness but a heart in there somewhere.
Today was our travel day back to DC. Neither Billy nor I had enough fortitude to tackle Cathy at 5:00 this morning.
Hello to fellow Cathyites. Nice to see so many gathered around. :-D

Irving said it all.
My tolerance for cold is pretty good since I’m a NH native. The key is dressing in layers. Aaron’s tolerance is higher because he’s from Quebec province. However, during the hot muggy summer, he melts into a slush pile.
As for decorations, we have real wreaths and garland on the doors. An artifical tree goes up in early December. We’re gone for almost two weeks at Christmas. We keep the candles in the windows until the end of January.
