I got ‘em all beat. I got an iPad 2 as a gift and then a Macbook Pro as a gift. It’s all their stuff on steroids and then some. Even Irving would be drooling. Thankfully I still have the Christmas Bib ala Billy.

Morning / afternoon / evening fellow Cathy fans. lookingup on the road later today. Mom! may come to join us today after her undecoration task. KFG it’s easy to be first post when you’re on at 2:00 a.m. my time. :-P Susan restless too?

I remember the days of companies buying ridiculous things for their employees. There was a place near here that bought them BMWs. I was excited about free bagels on Fridays. :-\Good morning, Susan and JanuAaronry! I haven’t left yet. My husband is having problems at work, so I don’t know when we’re leaving, but can’t leave later than tomorrow because we have to be there Friday. Good morning, KFG!! Are you still on “work time” even though you’re on vacation? Is it just easier or habit? I would think it would be hard, but I guess if that’s what you’re used to…Hello to GsMom (back today?), gmforde, rgcviper, Billy, Mai Tai and all the other Cathy nuts that roll around here today!

Cathy’s hair is brown. It is brown in the Sundays. Why isn’t it brown like it should be, in the dailies?

Hey Billy, I have a question for you… My neighbor has breast cancer and has been going through chemo treatments from Oct through last week. She is due to visit her doctor this week for follow-up. Can they tell this early if the chemo is effective, or does it take a while to know if everything is gone (i.e. can it come back next month if it looks good now)? I know cancer is different in every case, but I guess is there a general answer of how soon can you tell if chemo is effective? Thanks…

    Hi lightenup

Friend Aaron gave me a head’s up for your post. I’m gonna tread kinda carefully.

Tough question. Yes, it could change, for better or worse, in a month’s time. If she’s also done radiation, that’s another factor to consider. The true test is how the tumor(s) have receded. I’m sooo glad docs are doing a four month check vs six. Six would make me nervous. Four months is enough time to get an indication. Projecting forward is tougher. Professionally, I look at cancers as a sub-microscopic level, and killing them at that level.

I teach my patients to be very aware of the day to day. Friend Aaron was a spinal tumor factory at one time, having had 14 tumors at various stages of growth at one point. =8-O

So your friend shouldn’t second guess how she’s doing. After her checkup, if she doesn’t feel right, for whatever reason, call the doc. I trust ‘women’s intuition’ as much as I do medicine. Truly. There are also a couple of really good breast cancer resources out there. Susan Komen is one—http://ww5.komen.org/ as is Lance Armstrong’s http://www.livestrong.org/ And closer to my heart http://www.cancer.gov/ Hope that helps you. :-)

Susan and Dr. Billy: I left a message for both of you just now on yesterday’s forum (in case you’re interested).

Hello and Happy Wednesday, all! I got all my Christmas decorations taken down and put away yesterday for another 10-1/2 months until it’s time to haul it all back out and put it up yet again for Christmas 2012 (which will be here before you know it . . . unless, of course, the Mayans are right and the world ends on 12-21-2012!).

Good afternoon, Aaron, Dr. Billy, lightenup (Florida?! I’m so jealous of you! Have fun!), K.F.G., Susan, rgcviper, gmforde, lindz.coop and all the rest of the Cathy fanatics joining us here today. As always, it’s good to “see” everyone and I’m hoping that, now the holidays are over with again for a while, I’ll be able to visit with all my new “friends” a little more consistently than I’ve been able to lately.

    ;-)
