Money shortage is a problem for many families also here in Italy and the cause is only one: underpaid jobs and mounting unemployment.

She did the right thing. You should do staycations until you’ve paid off your mortgage.

Oh well, they can have a nice staycation in the backyard!

With Brutus’ luck a certain MIL will join them on their staycation.

We do something similar. I get cash to pay for gas and set a small amount aside. My wife knows where the stash is, and will let me know if she needs to borrow from it. I do count it regularly just to keep her honest though. :^)

well nuts, maybe you should put it somewhere else… like an interdimensional time portal and send it to when you will like to use. ;)

Pesky things, those mortgage payments. But it beats living on the street Brutus.

So, take the money meant for the mortgage and put that in the stash.

How dare she want to keep the family housed! In the silver lining department, if they get evicted Mama G won’t be coming over!

Home sweet Home, Brutus!

I thought Brutus was going to say that Gladys found the stash and blew it all on a new set of clothes for herself. It’s good to know that someone in the family has the sense to pay the mortgage and other essential payments. It’s good to see, too, that Brutus works for the dough, but doesn’t get to spend it.

He was saving up for a trip to Dairy Queen for a Peanut Buster Parfait…

Dang if you failed to pay the mortgage and got evicted you’d have a permanent vacation living outdoors

“You realize Arnie that I’m talking about the mortgage on my time share” continues Brutus…

That was unexpected. I thought for sure Gladys was going to buy something she wanted, but she actually acted responsibly.

Brutus, I am sure the bank didn’t think Gladys blew the money.

Gladys did the right thing, Brutus.

i receive nearly simultaneous notices from my bank that i’ve received a deposit and that somebody (my wife) has made a withdrawal…

How dare she. Remember though What’s hers is hers and what’s yours is hers….

“Blew it”? “Blew it on the mortgage payment”? What a crazy spendthrift!!!
