Babe Ruth called his homer at Chicago in game 3 of the 1932 World Series and it made history. What isn’t mentioned so much is all the times he pointed his bat to call a homer and struck out. As I recall Ruth was also a leader in being struck out as well as home runs.
P3- Dorothy connects like Lucky Haskins except it’s a foul ball. Reset for tomorrow’s exciting finish. The umpire compliments Dotty. You smell like the inside of my Momma’s purse.
I absolutely love this strip . Where else would you have a P1 panel with the batter in the right-handed batters box using her left hand to point at the pitcher. And, in P3 she has jumped to the left-handed batters box to crush the ball. My spider senses are telling me it just has to be a grand slam.
P-1: Showing her sport knowledge, Dottie checks to make sure her bat is straight, just like her dad’s Pool Cue.
P-2: Madison uses an illegal substitution from a planet with an indecipherable alphabet name across her jersey.
P-3: With the bases loaded, the infield and outfield playing deep, Dottie swings backwards and plinks a soft grounder toward 1st. Everyone in Milford knows she’s fast. It says so on the Boy’s Room Wall.
Brilliant strategy to confuse the pitcher. Jumping between sides of the plate during the pitch. And speaking of jumping, you should be jumping over to Mopped Up Thorp.
This was a real fun read today. I really enjoyed all the snarks, information on sports,(better than we get from the writers and people who suppose to know sports here). So once again thanks everybody.
Switch hitting on one pitch aside (unless she was pointing her bat at the Milford dugout like " …watch and learn, b******…"), I gotta’ admit that I like all the sports action lately.

Isn’t the pitcher supposed to wear a helmet and face mask?

Because we think it is going to get better, like it use to be. But it is not, it’s getting worse.

P1: Dotty does her best Uncle Sam take of “I want you!”
P2: In an attempt to confuse the Mudlarkette batters, the Madison Capitols change uniforms into those of the Hiawatha Canoe Paddlers.
P3: Too bad, with that launch angle Sweet Smelling Dotty just popped up to the first baseman.

In panel 1, she is a right handed batter. In panel 3 she is in a left handed stance.
