Morning Susan Salary depends on where, how much experience, etc etc but I make $74K. I could make $100+ in NYC. Having both credentials means more $$. MIL needs to get a life — even as a starter, SIL would be doing OK.

Willi Nilli & mollie05: Regarding your comments yesterday (which I just now got done reading) about your break-ins . . . I know exactly how you feel!!!!! Our house was broken into and robbed the week before Christmas, 1993. Thank heavens we weren’t home at the time it happened (so nobody was there to get hurt — especially US!) but it still left us pretty shaken up. Even now, to this very day, almost 19 years later, I still think about it — especially at Christmastime. We called the cops and once they finally showed up, they took a report but acted as though we were a complete bother to them and they couldn’t have cared less about the whole situation (so it’s doubtful there was any searching for the thieves whatsoever). Needless to say, we installed a security alarm as soon as we returned from visiting my in-laws after the first of the year and we’re pretty loaded up these days on guns with armor-piercing bullets in case that were to ever happen again — and we were home when it did. I hope and pray this never happens because we don’t want to ever have to shoot and kill anybody but we will in order to protect ourselves and our family if it becomes necessary. All I can say is . . . God Bless the U.S.A. with a Constitutional Amendment that allows us “the right to bear arms” and a state law that allows us the right to “stand our ground” when it comes to defending our home and family (aka: the “castle doctrine”)!!!!!

Hi Cathyites!! Much rather hear about the ruins — but that’s the anthropologist in me. We’re going to Norway in a couple of weeks and tho it will cost a lot, it has come down from the original estimate (always good news). First I have to get through the SW Licensing Exam. IF I survive that, I’m going to Norway. Everyone who’s travelling — Be Safe, Have Fun!!! — and don’t do what my husband did at the cottage!!!!!

Ok! That’s it! All this talk about vacations is too much – I am going to take one myself.

Actually, this is the old highschool gang’s 38th annual summer reunion camping trip weekend. Only 5 of us going this year. Two cannot make it, one’s wife won’t allow him to go anymore, one has disappeared entirely and we have no idea of where he is, one is physically unable to go camping , we lost two to cancer and two to heart attacks. But the 5 of us will have a good time and keep alive the memories of the 4 we’ve lost.

As soon as we get back, my wife and I are heading to Ottawa to catch Michael Jackson: The IMMORTAL World Tour by Cirque du Soleil.

I’m going to miss you all until next Friday but I think I am going to have a great week. For my fellow Cathyites also on vacation (or on rest and repair like Aaron) or about to leave (like KFG) – take care and enjoy yourselves. For those of you not on vacation, take care and enjoy yourselves anyway – life is to short to not enjoy it as much as possible!
