I wish some good investigative journalist would look into John Fisher’s finances. He still has to come up with about $1.2 billion, and it’s not a sure thing that he can arrange to borrow it — because he doesn’t appear to have the cash. The State of Nevada is only making available a maximum of $380 million towards a $1.5+ million ballpark.

Along with the question from mpguy2 above, how come nobody is seriously asking Fisher/MLB/Manfried why it is okay to field a lousy team and still rake in the huge media dollars? All the talk of fan attendance, or lack of same, is just a smoke screen.

Big article in the NY TIMES about how they may tear down the old Tropicana hotel in midtown to build the new Stadium.

May the ghosts of the Folies Bergere girls haunt them for all eternity

Also, the new Stadium is supposed to have only 30,000 seats—-the smallest in the Big Leagues.Sounds like they don’t have much faith in the team’s drawing power before they even get started

There’s way too much going on here that is not transparent to the public……. or probably even the players. It just doesn’t pass the smell test. Much like the PGA/LIV ‘arrangement’.

Have we really become such a convoluted society that a “rally” for a team is now a “reverse boycott”?

One would think that taxpayers would learn from the examples of St. Louis with the Rams and Oakland with the Raiders.

The reason the Oakland ball park is crappy is that it was reconfigured for the Raider football which resulted in hundreds of millions of debt for: spoiler alert, it wasn’t the Raiders.
