Yogurt last forever! Strawberries, not so much. It’s Russian roulette with freezer bags of frost covered “stuff”. Once found a steak from the Eisenhower era.
I’ve had food poisoning a couple of times, so I keep leftovers to a minimum and use them up quickly or throw them out. Simultaneous vomiting and “the runs” is not nearly as much fun as it it sounds like.
When mom cleaned out grandma’s freezer, she found dozens of tiny foil-wrapped packages of little dabs of this & that leftover foods that were literally decades old. #PeopleWhoLivedThruTheGreatDepressionProblems
Using opaque containers makes every food hunt an adventure. You can’t see if the contents have achieved sentience until you pop the lid and it attacks.
