Did they actually studied during the regular school year?

I remember summer school. My parents worked so I was always home alone. I enrolled for summer school just to be able to get out of the house and see people. I ended up graduating early because of the courses I took.

Also, I enjoyed it more because during the regular school year, I took courses I thought I was supposed to, but in summer school, it was all art, music, french, home ec- I did better in summer school because I took courses I enjoyed.

Graduating early was just a bonus.
