Mom: This year I vow to use the gifts in my gift closet! Cathy: Good luck, mom! Mom: Except this lotion. It might be too old to give...But if I open it to check, it won't look brand-new anymore. I bought three of these scarves last year. I can't give these two away until I remember who I gave the other one to. This travel clock's been in here so long the battery ran down. How can I give a gift that's on its second battery?? This was the new bestseller when I bought it, but now everyone's read it. It screams "gift closet reject!" This I'm stuck with until I remember who gave it to us so I don't give it back to the same people! We're off to the mall, then! Cathy: Don't ask. Dad: Wasn't going to.

What’s Christmas got to do with Christianity these days?

Wow! Nothing like hating on Christians for something in a strip that has absolutely nothing to do with Christianity.

I can sadly relate to this again. lol My cupboard almost full of useless gifts. Guess it’s time to donate to the thrift store. Happy Sunday all.

I’m learning the hard way that it is better to buy as we go along, for the most part. I used to stock up on childrens’ gifts for the inevitable birthday party, but not anymore. Fortunately, Toys for Tots is always happy to take my left overs.Hello to the entire nutty Cathy clan! I took one more step towards finishing shopping today. Whew! AND we bought the tickets to DC too, so hopefully I’ll finish that task eventually.

Good evening Cathyites. I am sure we did not find the last panel a surprise ending – just a another normal day in the Cathy family. Came back home early this Sunday – tried to beat the freezing rain. Failed that but the roads were still good – just had to stop every 10 to 15 minutes to de-ice my wipers and headlights. Hate freezing rain! Used to be we got it once a winter – usually in late January. Hoping it switches to good honest snow by tomorrow. lightenup – my fingers are crossed that your mission in DC will be successful.

Hi Cathyites!! I confess, I look at the gifts in the “gift closet” (well more like a gift bin), and think many of the same thoughts Cathy’s mother is having. Then I go out an buy new. I do keep a list of gifts from year to year tho — so that eliminates giving 2 of ths same thing to anyone. I’ve also been a victim of the “regifting” phenomenon — a book (daily journal) that was signed to someone else was given to me. Oh well!!
