I live in a National Forest. I don’t understand tourists obviously from the city with their brand new hiking clothes on display. Putting on headphones or slipping in their earbuds to “cancel” the sounds of nature that they just spent 3 hours and 3-4 hundred dollars to “enjoy” nature. Citidiots!
Husband has trouble hearing. He turns the TV up LOUD. I also have trouble have hearing but it background noise related and I keep the TV at MUCH lower volume as in the house when alone their is not much background noise to make a problem.
When we TV on Friday and Saturday nights (as we call them “Friday night midnight movie – TV substitute” and "Saturday night date night movie – TV substitute) I have the earplugs I use at the range to cut down the sound to bearable.
(Also wear anti-glare glasses as I apparently have analog eyes and both the older and newer digital TVs are not comfortable to watch either due to seeing small boxes that make up the picture with the older type or too bright a screen with the newer type which is what we watch the movies on – give me analog TV anytime.)

The sounds of life can be harsh at times. But that’s life.

If Peekaboo has her claws out, you may have to provide the soundtrack of a ball being popped or shredded…

If ONLY they actually worked that way! They only cancel out constant noises like fans, not variable sounds like voices.
