Well, killing the Auk on those grounds wasn’t the stupidest thing Chirstians ever did, I suppose- but it’s a contender.

According to the below article, that was the last known Great Auk in Britain and was killed in 1840. Also according to the article the last pair of Great Auks known to exist were killed on an island off the coast of Iceland in 1844 for a reason just as stupid.

Many years ago, I read a poem that went like this: The Great Auk’s ghost rose on one leg, turned round three times, and winked. Then turned and poached a phantom egg, and muttered, “I’m extinct.”

Well Donnie we can’t rightly say that we’d blame you for skipping the next family reunion.

May they snore before you as they do with me. And gesundheit.

You could only get 3 notes out of the triceratone, but they were good notes

I’m assuming Sir Bedivere was the King’s council for the auk trial.

Ok, severe infections from a human bite are not at all uncommon. Is it because of a bacteria that lay people nicknamed “flesh eating”?

Wonder if an Auk weighs the same as a duck?

Some types of bacteria in strep throat are also flesh-eating. It’s not dangerous in the wet throat, but if it gets into an open wound, it’s flesh-eating.
