So the kids know what happened to at least some of the Eden residents (“those others”), with the implication being it wasn’t a good ending. Fortunately, the kids did have an exit from their room and can now catch up with Wally & Co.
At least they have a clear hallway to go. Since their reality is collapsing I might assume it’s all heading to a point of convergence. If not that maybe a point of stability leaving what was the original reality before. So run kids….run.
When these two (the short one is apparently named Cole Washburn) meet up with the Wacky party, they can fill everyone in one what’s happened to the other inhabitants (like Duffy’s cronies, Huntz and Hines). Also, here is Duffy explaining what he learned from Ravenscroft about possible outcomes when The Eden Project comes undone “…everyone here will either blink out of existence or become embedded in solid rock.” https://www.gocomics.com/endtown/2019/07/05

If they were in school with Chic, that means they’re only children themselves. Frightened children.

Something that occurred to me the very moment we were re-introduced to this pair:
Maybe the characters the Marx brothers and sisters were removing were the ones NOT destined to survive.
Else, why put Cracky here, if not to SAVE those that were NOT taken…
