Borrow thousands for college, take required extra curricular courses that offer little to assist with your career goals, learn dopey social skills, think you are equipped for life and at the end of it all listen to out of step politicians that tell tales of paying off your student loans just to get your vote…. Bizarre
If indoctrinate means teach useful skills at hyper-inflated rates while socializing young adults among a diverse student body, than, yes. Otherwise it would be some insular school run by zealots and bigots that severs only to reinforce the extremely narrow viewpoints these kids had drilled into their formative minds by their misbegotten and misguided parents.
A very good friend of mine is a retired high school teacher and she’s mum about that and I believe a silent answer is a yes and perhaps there’s some truth to indoctrination starting in Kindergarten. My son is in his 30s so who really knows? Someone here with kids in K12 have a say?
Could be Liberty University, but there are also other religious universities. Of course, the most intense student grooming takes place in church Sunday schools and religiously-affiliated K-12 institutions.
I “indoctrinated” my students to check sources, be able to argue the other side’s point of view and argue to learn not to win, for 32+ years. Hopefully, they learned a bit of History along the way too.
Occasionally, I’d have a colleague (either left or right) who made it clear to all what their political positions were. I suspect most people who make such accusations have similar anecdotal evidence “proving” their theory.
