When we had a pair of long haired floofs, we’d get them shaved in June just as the weather was starting to turn hot. Otherwise they’d spend all summer on the cool concrete in the basement.

Cats only spread out when they are warm. I connected a rheostat to my cat’s bed heater. I can change her posture from a tight ball to a tabby “puddle” in a just few minutes with the twist of a dial. :)

Cat puddle. I had them often in NJ summers, even with the a/c.
