A friend was on a business trip to Singapore. At the hotel restaurant for breakfast the waiter asked “Do you take porridge?” She thought to herself, “Oatmeal? Yeah, that sounds safe.” Who would have expected fish heads?
Use fruits that are over ripe. Cook them in a bit of sugar, a t?uch of salt, water and desired sp?ces (seriously GK, someone found “sp?ces” offensive???) . Cook until bubbly and thickened a bit. Empty into a bowl you are using for eating. Cook oatmeal as usual, towards the end add back in the fruit and stir. Add cream or milk, if using. Stir very gently (do not over mix cream). Done. Serve with extra milk, a bit of brown sugar on top, or cinnamon sugar sprinkle.

I put peas in my oatmeal. What, you have never heard of peas porridge? Unfortunately, you have to keep it in the refrigerator for 9 days.

Some folks settle for adding some cinnamon, or maybe some chocolate chips. But I guess that’s too tame for your tastes, Leopold….
