In New England, stone walls are often found deep in the woods. Back in the 18th and 19th centuries, those woods were cow pastures and the trees grew in after the farm was abandoned.
My niece in Virginia has one bordering her property but she has to drive miles to get into her driveway because the fence is pre-civil war and cannot be touched
In a wooded area of old Dallas (1950’s) I feed Bluejays cracked peanuts. They flock to the feeders six at a time. Very messy eaters. On the ground below three or four squirrels clean up their mess. But lately they’ve started to stand up and fold their hands and stare up at the feeders, now appearing to pray to the bluejays for peanuts. Very odd,
