Ruben’s comics are so accommodating for my vertigo. What a sweetheart. Now what’s this? I have to read it sideways?? “Unhappily surpr”… ohhh, the world is spinning! Urk! Puked on my pomeranian!
It seems to me there was a scary hulking bald guy like that in some of Harold Tucker Webster’s cartoons, presumably an occasional foil to Caspar Milquetoast The Timid Soul?
I’ve always been heartily amused by the antics of Mr. Dempster, having enjoyed his cartoons from the beginning.. And in this strip you can see the genesis of the “label everything” craze that culminated in the much later masterpieces of Benjamin Franklin PIerce Garrison.

“I’m sorry, sir, ‘Barbie’ won’t be released for another 100 years.”
