I had a commanding officer who was the world’s most notorious punster. We were driving together to visit a remote site. He was driving (my first mistake). As we were bouncing up a mountain road, he said, “I’m trying to spare you as many potholes as I can.”
I responded, “It’s OK, sir. I’m sure the ones you miss on the way up, you’ll get on the way back down.”
He was also spinning off puns at a rapid rate to which I was NOT reacting. I finally told him, “Keep pitching, I’ll swing at one of them eventually.”
Apparently it was not a bad career move, I wound up getting promoted anyway. He was one of the best mentors I had and we respected each other immensely.

Aunty you can’t use 3 HA HA HA’s or more unless you’re scooting across the North Korean border.

It’s why I never bothered. The most I did was a fake chuckle.

Not true. I saw a study that said that fake laughter is almost as beneficial as real laughter. And it can lead to real laughter.

It depends on how many ’ha’s you use, just one ‘ha’ is just being sarcastic.
