Do not pet guide dogs. They aren’t there for your enjoyment, they are working and shouldn’t be distracted.

Buy them a biscuit when they clock out.

At least they were courteous enough to ask first…

Never pet a working service dog. The kids were right to ask first.

I’ve known service dogs that seemed friendly. They were checking you out & signalling the owner where you were carrying weapons or drugs. We’ve got ptsd combat veterans of both species around here.

Note to cartoonist: A blind person will use a dog OR a cane – not both.

I always tell young kids they can pet my dog if their parent agrees to it. Our puppy is big and impressive but in fact loves to be petted. Then I use the petting time to tell gently the kid to never touch a dog without the owner and the parent permission because it can be a very grumpy dog. I hope it helps the kids.
