This is a great camp. Amazing activities, and no supervision.

The only wild cats in PA are bobcats and feral kitties.

Cougars have been quietly spreading. Of course, most east-coast states officially deny their existence, despite all the encounters, trail-cam videos, and the occasional cougar flattened beside the freeway.

The one good thing about cougars is that the coyotes are afraid of them.

I think that’s some kind of mountain lion or bobcat.

We’ve got Mountain Lions here in Wisconsin, tho’ they’re still far and few between. The Wisconsin DNR says they’re likely young males that moved here from Minnesota and South Dakota.

Kinda nice to know there are still animals in our woods that can be dangerous to us, know what I mean? We’ve got bears, wolves, and even cougars here in Michigan, although the last two are way up north in da U.P.

We had a mountain lion cross in front of our car in Sullivan County. Thankfully we were going the speed limit, 25mph. It was beautiful.

after cat hunters extincted western cougars (mountain lions) eastern cougars were “planted” in the rockies and ozarks. within a week my cousin, a professor, got a call mid-class from a neighbor that a cougar just left her lamb pens. not sure, but i believe the cougars are once again extinct in the ozarks. pretty bad when the fed creates a fear of your children getting eaten if you let them play outside. i hear the cougars have been lunching on californians.

Remember: Nature is not a Disney movie, full of animals that love and cherish humans. To nature, you are meat, and if you cannot defend yourself, you will suffer a violent death. Just ask those tourists who keep getting too close to bison and end up gored or trampled.

Amazing that they would have a children’s camp in the middle of wilderness. In real life some kids would get attacked by the wild animals.

The mountain lion will decoy the animal control people away while the bear makes its escape.

Later,we’ll find our they can both talk, but only when there aren’t people around

People appear to be more bothered by the carnivorous wildlife yet pay no heed to deer tics. Where there are deer..

IIRC the puma that was hit by a car in CT a few years ago came from somewhere west of the Mississippi. It probably came through Pennsylvania.
