I heard that two men, one in the US and the other in Australia, once used technology to get together and lay two slices of bread on the ground exactly opposite the world from each other, thereby making an Earth sandwich.
There are actually very few places on earth where you could dig directly through the center of the planet and find land on the other side. Most likely you would just get ocean for all your trouble.
