Someone ruined their pants with a hotel iron. The previous guest used the iron to fry hamburgers. The grease and cheese came out on their pants.

Decades ago when I started my foray in chemistry, I interned at a government lab where it was not unusual for the old-timers to rinse out a beaker and heat up soup or some other canned good on a hotplate for lunch.
