You know, we’ve never had much trouble with these kinds of service needs. The trouble has been more in the money end! Upgrades that are “free”, but after some set time, you find you’ve doubled your bill. Prices going up with no warning. Services changing with no warning. Going out of service with no warning. And, of course, the all-important “Our customers are important to us, please stay on the line & the next available service agent will be with you shortly.”
based on true events. If this had been the first time that our cable company had worked harder at cancelling our appointments than to come fix problems, I’d never have done this cartoon, I can tell ya.
The caller menus to navigate through are evil anyway – but I really loathe the speech recognition ones. Luckily those are usually also navigable by tone dial. And most are even already navigable as soon as the next menu announcement begins.
Doesn’t the cable company owe him compensation for the fire their equipment caused? He’s being abnormally calm for someone who almost lost his home. I’d switch and sue for restitution and to get out of any contract they may have.
I have lived this nightmare twice in the last decade. not from fire, but from starting a small business and at my house. it is real, it is stupid BUT they train you well.

Wait Wait! This can’t be true, private industry is efficient and perfect in every aspect, only the govt is goofed up! Right?
