It looks like it escaped from a Doctor Seuss book.

My GSP goes crazy when she see’s a Dove or a Turkey, all the other birds she pays no attention to. She’s can hunt anything down, especially Deer, she even brought me home a skunk as a present once, and she had no skunk smell on her, she’s fast.

Would it be some sort of pheasant or quail?
