I so appreciate the library. Where else could you read books free? Ours doesn’t even fine anymore for overdue books. I still try to get them back on time since others want to read them too. We have a great system in my neck of the woods. If our system doesn’t have a book, we have an interlibrary loan system. Or you can request it.

I think my TBR has finally exceeded my likely life expectancy.

The Library Taxes are the only ones I don’t complain about, I have a list of over 2000 books I’ve read

I never have time to catch up on all the movies and shows I DVR’d.

I like a minimum of 3 loans at a time. I hardly watch tv anymore!

Books take you on adventures you might never have otherwise,

I have a queue of a couple dozen books to read at any given time

Every 2 weeks I hit a couple of thrift stores and a used book store to keep it that way

Every six months our local library has asemi-annual book sale, and this is usually the result. https://thisendoftheswamp.com/2019/06/09/

While you are there, get Ben a self-help book, it looked like he could use one yesterday.

We have hundreds of books here in the house on a variety of subjects. Most books are in our “library”/office 5 – 6ft cases and 1- 3 ft case). The craft books are mostly in our studio (2 ft cases) some in the basement (1 6ft case plus 2 LARGE plastic boxes) many stacked on the work table plus the several shelves of books related to his work which he took home when he left his job (1- 5ft case). In the bedroom they are just stacked on night stands. In my teddy bear’s room there are 2 3ft cases of books about teddy bears (and similar) some stories and some about making them.

Also large magazine collections on a variety of subjects – history, crafts, etc.

Since the start of Covid he has been downloading books from our public library to read on his computer. Since he had cataract surgery some years ago he has found reading on paper not so easy any longer (while I find reading online not at all easy) so this works well for him. Problem was he could not find his library card – so they think I am reading all these books!

When you are married to an ex-librarian, you have a LOT of books. Books came in, but never went out. Now after 61 years of marriage, we have over 3000.
