It not bad unless you’re not smart about what you’re buying. We put most essentials (food, gas, etc) on credit card and pay it off monthly. We earn lots of extras (cash back/ vacation miles) and also see itemization of where the money goes.
Online shopping is worst, Gladys. With shopping in store, you might get worn out and not buy anything at all. But, online shopping is easier on the bod, but harder on the wallet.
Poor Brutus. I’m pretty sure Gladys doesn’t quite make the connection between online shopping and the credit card bill. Reminds me of The Credit Card Song by Dick Feller.

Brutus realizes he needs to be more specific to a wife who hears what she wants to hear. And who has even less sense than he does! Gladys seems to have grown and Brutus shrunk today Chip. An allegory of their miscommunication?
the covid pandemic led to revolutionary thinking in japan, where cash has always been king. the government strongly encouraged folks to use non-cash payment methods (credit or debit cards, for example) to minimize contact and the spread of germs so now folks use credits cards with gay abandon and most places actually accept them. the banks must be wetting themselves over all that credit card debt… ☺

Brutus – Seize credit cards and give Glady’s a prepaid monthly card. She can spend it all in one day or budget herself. Easy Peasy.

Mama must have taught her the idiotic thought that she should “pay for” items with a credit card. However, she should have learned better by now.
