A crushing comment from the master chef

The pun is a little muddled to me.

In my area, the mortar and pestle is known as a “metate.”

Try lobbing an actual mortar at him. Maybe that will get the message across.

You should always hold your pestle right side up, or you might pes all over your shoes.

Ha! I can use both ends of mine, thin end for fine work!
