    I think the important question is, WHY is college so much more expensive (in terms of proportion of income) than it used to be? Back in the 60s, 70s, and 80s you could work your way through college. But now? The costs have risen much faster than income levels. At the same time, fewer and smaller grants are available, as are federal (low interest) student loans. So…what is going on to make college less affordable than a couple of generations ago?

    And, of course, why is it becoming less available in this country when other wealthy countries are making it MORE accessible? It is now literally cheaper to study abroad in some countries than to stay home.

    Why not go to a trade school instead. It’s cheaper and you’ll make just as much money, if not more.
