Before anyone gets their [ dysphemistic euphemism ] in a tangle, those two Spanish words in panel 2 mean “my queen.” That should be easy to figure out… but that fact seldom prevents the whining. As for those two English terms in the brackets? You’re on your own. See? Even English can be problematic for English speaking folks.

Letterer wasn’t thinking. with “Mi Reina” in brackets. Brackets are a convention to show the conversation is not in English but is being translated from another language. (The Phantom chose not to use the convention, but there will be a “*” with a note * translated from the Bandar.) Since Luke speaks fluent Korean maybe he spoke to his wife in Korean and the letterer mistakenly put it into Spanish instead of English.

Frannie hits the bricks and Mimi is off kanoodling with Ericka. It can only mean one thing. Welcome to a Henry Barajas production of “The Odd Couple” starring Gil Thorp and Luke Martinez where our two heroes share an apartment in downtown Milford.

When are we fully rebranding this strip as “BHH Luke Hernadez- Martinez”?

Maybe this is a lost strip from last spring? It might actually make sense then.

As I said yesterday, all this happened weeks or months ago. He had time to work another job at the Detention Facility, and he’s been on the job at Milford for a while. And she’s still mad?

Adding to a comment I wrote from yesterday:I learn a lot here. About sports, history of sports. There are readers here who can answer any questions about this strip. They’ve been dedicated readers of the strip for a long time. They are a very well read group. The comments are funny and they can make you laugh. Just remember when you laugh at a comment, it takes a moment of sadness away for a moment. We need more laughter and less sadness. So thanks ALL you commenters and snarkers.
