A bit of background, from a coin site:A normal 1943 steel wheat penny in circulated condition is worth around $0.50 to $1.In uncirculated condition, a common date 1943 penny ranges from $3 to $10 depending on the grade.High grade examples certified MS65 can trade for around $100.The finest known examples graded MS68 have sold at auction for $2,000 to $7,200 in recent years.Unique circulated pieces like the XF40 that sold for $3,960 demonstrate the demand for rare condition examples.Major errors on 1943 pennies, like off-center strikes or clips, can also trade for a significant premium. The legendary 1943-S is the holy grail, with the sole known MS example selling for an incredible $138,000
They weren’t initially that rare:Philadelphia Mint produced 684,628,670 samples of the 1943 steel penny;Denver Mint produced 217,660,000 samples of the 1943-D steel penny;San Francisco Mint produced 191,550,000 samples of the 1943-S steel penny.

The detectorist rivalry again. I like this theme.

There’s a UK show from a few years back called Detectorists that I recommend.

I recall those 1943 steel pennies. There were still a few in circulation when I started school. >

Almost resembles fishing celebrations.

I’m no detectorist, but that ZX-3000 looks like it’s made from a coat hanger.

Has anyone seen the British TV series Detectorists?
Umfuld about 1 year ago
Yes and I didn’t realize there was a 3rd season. Not sure how I missed it as I watched 1 and 2 after it aired. Anyway, got something to watch now.

Can’t understand if this is a very nice way to say goodbye or another way to say that he’s better than Monty.

Now that’s how a pro rubs it in.

Hmm. The ZX-3000 looks rather like a divining rod.
If Monty were smart (trying to stifle my guffaws!), he’d ignore this challenge.
But I think he will take it up….
chriscc63 about 1 year ago
ok, this was a very good one. He shows just a tiny bit of hate for Monty and not all out villainy.
