Where does the warming caused by a loss of the cooling effects of fresh water and fresh water ice go in our climate change calculations? Melting and evaporation cause cooling. It is actually how melting and evaporation occur, by absorption of heat from the atmosphere.

We decided that in Phoenix we had 5 seasons. Summer, autumn, spring, second summer, hotter than hell.

We really don’t have seasons any more. I say we just have one and call it “Continuum”.

It’s unseasonably cold hereabouts.

In New England, the fifth season is called “mud season” – in the early spring. So this would be a sixth season. Maybe we could go month by month . . . .

This works better than replacing the term “Indian Summer” with Commander Summer

Soon I expect we’ll need a Category 6 for hurricanes.
