Maybe there were over 2 million trees planted, but I don’t think they did it by themselves. That would be over 270 trees per day on average. They probably had help from others.
That antelope’s life span must be around three days? OK, the dessert rat is in the same boat. It gets the water it needs from the food it eats and I presume it is the same for that species of antelope. I know, biology majors are a pain,
A factoid similar to the Greenbank telescope: The island of Hawaii allows only sodium street lamps on the island so that they don’t interfere with the telescopes on Mauna Kea.
Had to lookup how the Gerenuk Antelope could live without water …… found …… They do not eat grass and do not require water. They can get enough moisture from the plant life they eat and can survive in dry thornbush country and even in the desert. ………….. :)
When it started, the SETI@home project sent work units that were created using data from the Arecibo radio telescope. At some point, they added work units that were created from the Green Bank observitory.
This cartoon is somewhat misleading. The telescope in Greenbank is a RADIO telescope: Ergo, the need for a radio quiet zone. This is not made clear in the cartoon.

The Salgados could give a lesson to Justin Trudeau who promised to plant two BILLION trees. He’s only got 1,975,000,000 to go.

I’m pretty sure everyone can survive their entire life without drinking water. Granted, their lives might not be very long…

I guess that antelope gets all the moisture it needs from its food.
