Have you tried covering your lawn in about five inches of pea gravel? Weeds pull right out. Put a weighted rake on a riding mower and a quick spin around the yard pulls all the weeds and levels the gravel nicely. Easy maintenance is important.
One year, I thought it would be cool to allow some thistles to grow. About 13 of them. They grew to 6 or 7 feet tall. When I finally pulled them out in autumn – there were many large holes to fill. Never did that again!
