The people who want to do away with nuclear weapons don’t seem to have studied history. There were TWO World Wars until nuclear weapons stopped the Second World War. After that, Mutual Assured Destruction has PREVENTED another World War. [Neither side could win with a ‘first strike’ since either side could launch a counterattack when first strike launches were seen.] So, fear of destruction has confined war to local areas, with the warring factions supplied by enemies afraid of each other. Of course, now a country that thinks it can give an antidote to ITS people, can try to destroy its enemy with biological viruses, which are dangerous to everyone. Or, they can try to destroy an enemy with computer virus attacks on infrastructure.
