The Earth is merely getting less dense as we cover it with “fluffy” garbage. Of course, cities are built on top of old cities. You would be crazy to build underneath them. :)
It’s not added dirt, it’s the same amount of dirt, just rearranged. So Earth isn’t getting heavier from all the digging. It is getting heavier from the input of small meteors that fall on the Earth every day. But we won’t fall out of orbit. Physics doesn’t work like that.
